Berber is a loop pile carpet, it is known for its highly durable and is often found in high traffic areas as well as office. It's practical, and great for all-purpose use as well as stain resistant and is generally more affordable than thicker luxury carpets.
The loops can be made at either at one hight or uneven heights, to form a textured pile.
Today, there are many types of modern Berber carpets made from different materials, including Polypropylene, Nylon and Wool. Wool has been found to be the more popular choice with the modern Berber carpet.

SaxonyList Item 2
If are looking for comfort then a saxony carpet will do just that. The deep pile feels sumptuous and decadent underfoot giving an elegant look, saxony carpet is soft to touch and manufactured using two or more tightly twisted fibers together in a yarn to create a luxurious soft texture and can come in different pile depths.
It can flatten more easly comparted to other types of carpet and show footprints. A shorter pile depth would be advised on the stairs and other high traffic areas.

Loop-pileList Item 3
Probably the oldest style of carpet, loop-pile is made from un-cut loops of either wool, nylon, polypropylene or a blend of these fibres. It's hard wearing and excellent at hiding footprints and does don't show tracking as much as other styles. Generally used for busy areas of the house. Loops can get caught in animal claws so be careful with pets.

Twist-pileList Item 4
Twist pile carpets are the most popular type of carpet sold. It's hard-wearing and good at hiding scuffs, footprints and vacuum cleaner marks it is ideal for busy areas of the house. Twist-pile carpet is created from yarn that has been twisted tightly together which create a textured surface that is springy underfoot.
